Tim Tarrant is Head of the ICT Team at the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA). The Agency is the Government organisation with responsibility for the training of people in England to become teachers and the professional development of people working in schools.

Prior to his appointment at the TDA he led a team in the DfES ICT in Schools Division responsible for teacher training and staff development in ICT and laptop schemes for teachers. He was one of the three people in the UK to lead on the design and introduction of the CAD-CAM initiative to schools which led to a change in the National Curriculum.

His background is in education, adult training and ICT. He originally worked in ICT as a computer programmer and systems analyst, led on several projects and ran training programmes to train others to introduce computer-based systems. In 2006 he received an award from the Design and Technology Association for his "outstanding contribution to D&T".
